Mark 10:15

One year ago today, our family lost Clay's grandfather, C.J. Anderson.  He was a true man of God, and we still miss his hugs and smile.  One night Clay was staying with C.J. while he was sick, Clay opened C.J.'s Bible and found the following verse underlined.

Joshua 24:15

“As for Me and My House, We Will Serve the Lord”

Without a doubt, that is exactly what C.J. did....serve the Lord.  He was hardworking, giving and kind, and we miss him dearly.

The day C.J. passed, I took Allie Kate to my mother's house while I went to be with Clay at C.J. and Nana's.  Allie Kate could tell something was wrong (funny how kids can sense EVERYTHING). When I told her C.J. was really sick she said, "Don't worry momma, Jesus is gonna take care of him." Her words still bring tears to my eyes...how precious it is to see the world through the eyes of a child. Her words made me think of this verse.

Mark 10:15

Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”

So although we all miss our C.J., it would be selfish of us to want to bring him back.  His work here is done, and he is enjoying his eternal life in heaven with our Father.  We will all be reunited again someday...

Clayre Jessye's initials also match C.J.'s.  The week she was born, I dreamed C.J. was holding her and he handed her back to me in the dream. He gave me one of his sheepish grins but didn't say a word. I'm pretty sure they've already met :)
